Jupe Boutique lent me these adorable brogues for this week’s style “challenge”. Diane made me nervous when she told me she had “just the thing” for my challenge (and then laughed maniacally via Twitter). But as soon as I opened the box I squealed.

I’ve been on the fence about brogues. I like the idea of a dressy, flat shoe that looks just as good with skinny jeans as it does with a flouncy skirt. But I just never felt like I could really pull off brogues. I assumed they were too hip and trendy for an old gal like me. 

Well, you know what they say about making assumptions.  

I have fallen in love with these shoes. I may not return them. I really enjoy that they have a pointed toe. I wasn’t expecting that shape at all. And the studs… well, I’m a bit of a nut for anything that toughens up something that isn’t typically associated with badasses. Perhaps the person wearing these brogues would be more inclined to ride a Vespa, but would fantasize about riding a Harley.
