Point State Park is one of the reasons I love Downtown Pittsburgh. The 36-acre park is situated at the confluence of the three rivers for which Pittsburgh is so famous. There is a really beautiful fountain at the Point that I was hoping to capture today. Apparently I’m a bit premature as the fountain was wrapped in an enormous banner that read, “Are you a friend of the fountain?”
Well, I tried to be its friend today. Maybe next time. Sometimes the water is pink for breast cancer awareness. I thought it would have been stellar to have pink water spewing behind me as I pranced around in my pink tights. Looks like I had to settle for some pretty flowers instead.
There were quite a few people in the park. Lots of women in their work gear and sneakers. I always chuckle a little bit when I see that. It’s not like I disagree with their choice of attire. It just makes me think of Big Business and I’m Bette Midler all cheeky in my heels one second and then cursing the day heels were created the next. If only I’d wise up and put on those comfy kicks. Silly little girl.

Some of the best concerts are held at Point State Park. Last year, my husband and I got to see a free Black Keys concert there during the Three Rivers Arts Festival. It was truly unbelievable. Those Akron boys really know how to put on a show.
I am head over heels for these Subu flowers. As I told Emily, I think they are just so fetching. They make me feel fresh and springy. So I am going to wear them way too often. SUE ME.
Can you feel it? That warm, coziness? That’s the weekend reaching out to embrace us. Let’s reach back, shall we?
