This is one of my most favorite murals in Pittsburgh and certainly my favorite in the South Side. We have taken several pictures of it for our house. It has the most beautiful colors and perfectly imperfect images.
I tried to find some information about this mural for you but I was quite disappointed that I couldn’t find much. I knew it was a Sprout Fund project, so I started there. Turns out the artist is Carolyn Kelly. One look at her website and I knew she was the one. She has a very specific, very whimsy aesthetic that I am completely infatuated with. I think fantasy and French when I look at her work. I have no idea why. Maybe her sketches remind me a bit of Le Petit Prince? Who knows really?

I thought this was the perfect backdrop for my outfit. I felt quite romantic and whimsy today, what with my floral scarf (yes, yes this is the scarf I wore on Friday) and the satin flowers in my hair. Those were a gift from my gal pal, Emily. She makes some pretty amazing journals, notebooks and other handmade items. You should check out her blogs (don’t ask me how she keeps up with more than one), Subu and The Reluctant Vegetarian.
I love when gals wear beautiful head pieces. I decided that both of these pins were meant for my hair, professional mores be damned. I mean, it’s not like I’m showing off side-boob or anything.
Ugh, my hair is in desperate need of a color and a trim. JAAAYYYY!!! You think he can hear me? The one thing I am infinitely delighted about is the length of my hair. It’s sort of fun (for me personally) to look at some of my first posts and how much longer my hair is since November. It’s a lot of work to grow out your hair!

I hope your Monday was as exceptional as mine was. Let’s keep this sunshine going, eh?
