SWF Daily Duds

Today was the last day at Stella’s day care. On Monday, she starts at her new one closer to home. On the surface, I couldn’t be more relieved. The commute has been a tough one for me and Stella. She’s been such a trooper, but the traffic heading into the Liberty Tunnels has been… a challenge. Her patience is exceptional for a 17 month-old. But she’s still 17 months old.

Scratch just below the surface though, and it’s quite evident how sad this day is. Stella has been with Ms. Leni since she was four months old. There is a very small pool of individuals with whom I would trust my daughter. Ms. Leni is and will always be one of them. There aren’t adequate words to describe how important she has been to Stella’s development.

We all had a few tears in our eyes as we waved goodbye one last time. “Bye baby girl,” Ms. Leni said. “Byyyye!” she replied as she blew kisses.

It’s time to look forward to a new era in Stella’s life. But we will never forget the ladies who loved their Stellawella like their own.

Thank you Ms. Leni, Ms. Regina {for walking Stellawella around in the morning}, Ms. Kimmy {Jakey!}, and Ms. Julie.
