There really is no place like home. Great selection, dear readers.
Here are a few tips on wearing flats stylishly. I feel I can say this with certainty, having attempted to try some different things and realizing they just don’t work on a regular gal like myself.
1. If you are wearing a skirt with flats, keep the skirt at your knees or above. Wearing flats obviously brings your whole body down. When you’re a shorty like me, you need all the lift you can get.
2. If you are wearing trousers with flats, fit is imperative. You want the line from your hip to your foot to be as straight and long as possible. That means there should be very little break in your pant. This will make your legs look miles long. This will also serve to prevent your pants from sneaking under your shoes, getting your cuffs nasty and frayed.
3. Lift your body with a high-waisted skirt or by cinching a belt at your natural waist. You can create the illusion of a long bottom by making it appear to start higher.
4. Pull up your hair. I know it sounds a bit strange, and I did not do it here, but again, if you create an illusion of lift and height, you won’t appear to be so stubby.
Flats will always be a challenge for me. I really love the shape heels give my legs. But until my feet evolve into this
I will be forced to accept that flats are my fate.
